PM Modi Strengthens Ties with Global Tech CEOs

PM Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to the United States of America, where he held a roundtable meeting with the country’s top technology CEOs, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Accenture CEO Julie Sweet. The PM urged the tech CEOs to take advantage of India’s growth for collaborations and innovation. 

According to a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting entailed discussions of many emerging and new technologies, such as AI, quantum computing, biotechnology,, IT and communication, semiconductors, and more. PM Modi shared his experience of the meeting on X, saying, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.

The Prime Minister of India stated that his government is committed to making India a global leader in fields like biotechnology, AI, and semiconductor manufacturing. He also stated that India’s emerging status will be a very good opportunity for companies to invest in India and earn a good return. He said, “They can co-develop, co-design, and co-produce in India for the world, harnessing the opportunities from India’s economic and technological growth.

Along with Sundar Pichai and Julie Sweet, many other CEO also joined the meeting, including Adobe (Shantanu Narayen), Google, HP Inc. (Enrique Lores), AMD (Lisa Su), Biogen Inc. (Chris Viehbacher), Bristol Myers Squibb (Chris Boerner), Eli Lilly and Company (David A. Ricks), IBM (Arvind Krishna), NVIDIA (Jensen Huang), and Kyndryl (Martin Schroeter), LAM Research (Tim Archer), Moderna (Noubar Afeyan), Verizon (Hans Vestberg), Global Foundries (Thomas Caulfield).
